How to Order a Custom Sized Skylight Diffuser

To order your new custom sized skylight diffuser;

  1. Measure the length and width of your existing skylight diffuser.
  2. Enter these values on this page, in centimetres.
    Hint: 1 meter = 100 centimetres = 1,000 millimetres
  3. Choose the type you want; Prismatic or Opal.
  4. Press the “calculate” button for an instant price.
  5. Press “Add to cart” and complete the checkout.

Custom Size Skylight Diffuser

This is a custom sized product. See our pre-cut skylight diffusers for standard diffuser sizes.

Please ensure you order the correct size diffuser by measuring the length and width of the diffuser itself, not the ceiling surround or shaft opening.

WARNING: we do not accept returns for custom sized skylight diffusers as these are made to order and cannot be reused – double check your measurements before ordering!

Prismatic or Opal

The prismatic diffuser (a collection of prisms) disperses the light passing through, scattering it over a larger area. Made from 4.4mm acrylic sheet with 9.5mm square prisms, it will typically perform well for 20 years. Additionally, the diffuser softens the lights, reducing glare and decreasing eye strain.

The opal diffuser has an opaque finish that softens the light and has a sleek, modern look. Made from 3mm cast acrylic sheet, it is UV stabilised, weighs half as much as glass and up to 10 times more impact resistant. Providing only slightly less light dispersal than prismatic (about 5% less), it is the more stylish choice.

Shipping & Delivery

The replacement diffuser will be cut to your custom size within 5 working days and flat packed using thick cardboard to protect it during transport. We use recycled cardboard to keep packaging costs low.

Please allow 7 days for delivery from the date of shipping. It may be longer to remote areas or during busy period e.g. holidays.

Custom Sized Skylight Diffuser Installation

  1. To install your new skylight diffuser, remove the existing skylight diffuser by carefully pushing the sheet upwards so you can grasp it. Then rotate it by 45 degrees and gently guide it through on a diagonal (opposite corners).
    NOTE: we recommend wearing gloves to protect your hands from the sharp edges and setting up a ladder to make it easier to access.
  2. Wipe the new diffuser with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove any dust.
  3. Install the new skylight diffuser by guiding it through the ceiling surround on a diagonal (opposite corners), rotating it 45 degrees and lowering it into place.
